31 March 2008 PRESS RELEASE : PRESS RELEASE : PRESS RELEASEPLEA FOR VOLUNTEERS AND STOCK AS YARE HOSPICE CARE OPENS NEW CHARITY SHOP Yare Hospice Care will shortly be opening a new Charity Shop at 174 High Street, Gorleston. This is in addition to their first, very busy shop, at 3 Broad Row, Great Yarmouth, which opened in January 2008 In fact things are moving so fast for the Charity, who are pledged to provide a much needed ten bed hospice in the Great Yarmouth Borough, that shop’s manageress, Pauline Petts is appealing for volunteers to help in the new shop. So please if you are able to give a few hours a week to help out in one of the shops contact Pauline either by telephone or by calling in at 3 Broad Row. The Charity is also appealing for the following items that are urgently needed for the shops: Clothes, DVDs, CDs, Videos, Bric-a-Brac, Books etc. Chairman, Penny Platten, said: ‘We are overwhelmed by the amazing response we have received from the public and are particularly grateful for the support and help given by the volunteers and Friends of Yare Hospice Care. Our Broad Row shop has proved to be such a success that we have decided to take the opportunity to open one in Gorleston. Providing the hospice beds is an enormous task and to that end we are continuing to meet with local stakeholders, in addition to fundraising, in order to ensure that the provision will best meet the need.’ The next meeting of the Friends of Yare Hospice Care is at 7.00 pm on Wednesday 16 April, at the Cobholm and Lichfield Resource Centre.
